The Maverick Theater is a community volunteer theater founded in 2002 by Artistic Director Brian Newell and business partner Jim Book . The venue has two stages, a cabaret stage and a black box stage. The Maverick opened at it’s permanent Fullerton location on June 23rd, 2005 with The Rocky Horror Show.  Since then, The Maverick has become known for its original stage adaptations of films, including Night of the Living Dead (an annual Halloween production), and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (an annual Christmas production).
